Silicone Bibs and Snack are coming soon to Aubrey & Co

The Truth about Weaning and why our Silicone Bibs are going to rock your world... a fun and frustrating time it is. My husband always considered this to be the worst phase, pre-chewed food was not something he could handle. For me I found it fun if a little frustrating at times, mostly because 6-18 month-olds have a friggin mind of their own and no two days are the same. Monday - I will quickly and cleanly demolish half a banana and a couple of toast soldiers.

Social and Mental Distancing?

I’m a people person, I touch everybody, all the time, I didn’t realise how much until COVID-19. But somehow not being able to be around other people made me feel claustrophobic, after months of feeling this way I finally got some mental distancing in this weekend. A short trip to the coast with my mum and sisters, we drove down to Bournemouth, found a quiet spot on Boscombe beach and just sat, hung out, chatted and enjoyed some space from the day to day. (I also rented a paddle board, one of...

Keeping the balance

It's been a tricky week, for keeping the balance. I'm grateful for such a full and interesting life but sometimes it can get a bit out of whack. Having used this time to focus on reflection as a business we have lots of cool new projects and ideas, lots of opportunities and love for our work..... on the flipside of this the kids are struggling (read: becoming feral) and the continued uncertainty has me hoovering from must workout and get my diet back on track to 'sod it I'm only hanging out at home anyway'.

Supporting our NHS

Supporting our NHS right now is so important. We are so proud to say that together in just a week we have raised over £240 for NHS Charities Together!! Unbelievable start to our fundraising effort and we can and will do more. We will continue to offer our NHS Charity Range throughout May and continue to add to our fundraising efforts. It is so important right now, in this moment, to do what we can to support each other and keep our community safe. If your part in that is to stay...

How has our vision changed in light of this crisis?

So I’ve had a little cry, felt relieved, thrown a tantrum about how to split myself in two to get everything done, and (at least today) have come full circle to see what a great opportunity this is for us at Aubrey & Co and how our vision has changed in light of the crisis. I've worked for Amy for 7 months, helping to develop the business strategy, marketing platforms and writing content. I love it, I love the beautiful thoughtful products she makes and our customers are amazing. Right now we all feel a...

Lifestyle Photoshoot Fun with Aubrey & Co

The current COVID-19 outbreak definitely threatened our lifestyle photoshoot day a few weeks ago but we were lucky enough to be able to proceed safely with extra precautions in place. The amazing support we received from the families involved was only matched by the fun we had. First up the gorgeous Paula, due in just 9 days, came to model our teething necklaces. She was a great sport given that she was about to pop and getting changed to model our various collections couldn't have been that easy. I couldn't help but...

What is a MAM adaptor?

..... Ok what on earth? What are MAM adaptors, why would you use them? And what are they actually called? We get asked often about MAM adapters, and sometimes we don’t until a customer realises after their purchase they needed one. If you’re a new parent, buying a gift or simply using a different kind of dummy this time around it can be a little confusing. MAM Adapters are small, often silicone, loops on the end of your dummy clip specially designed to be used with MAM dummies such as the BIBS...

Saying Thank You to Royal Brompton

This week we talked to my sister Lauren about her fundraising efforts for Royal Brompton Hospital. This March she will be running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in support of their ongoing projects and continues to garner great support for this wonderful cause.  So here goes…… Why did you decide to raise money for this cause in particular? Quite frankly, they saved my husband Dave’s life three times, during three critical heart operations we had access to the best consultants around the world. Without them my husband would not...

Silicone dummies Vs Latex dummies

Over the years we've been asked many times about the differences between Silicone and Latex dummies, what's better, why should you choose one over the other? The short answer is, it almost always comes down to personal choice, save in the case of an actual latex allergy. Some parents prefer this look to that look, some babies prefer that teat or this fit. It can be a bit of a minefield! That having been said, having worked with lots of families over the years and used our experience to develop...

10 Uses for a Muslin

The ultimate must have baby product! Here are our top 10 uses for a muslin. There are definitely some luxury items out there (motorised rocker, wipe warmers) but this is an essential! I don't know a single mum with a newborn who doesn't have a Muslin constantly tucked in the back of her jeans/over the should or wrapped around the handle of the buggy - here's why! My top 10 uses for a Muslin Cleaning Up Baby Spit - yep the sexiest part of having...
